Le Meridian Philadelphia Wedding 01 Allison & Jeff Aren’t these two adorable? Meet Allison & Jeff. You might remember them from their engagement shoot with their sweet doggie Mason. They were married up in Philly and held both their ceremony and reception at Le Meridian, an awesome boutique hotel downtown. One thing that was cool about having their wedding at La Meridian was that to do portraits by City Hall, all we had to do was walk around the corner!

Allison & Jeff met in Philly and then moved down to DC. What I love about Allison & Jeff is that they are always laughing and smiling which makes them a ton of fun to be around. Thank you so much for having me as your photographer!

Back in September I traveled to Colonial Beach, VA to photograph Marisa & Justin’s wedding. I got there a bit early and took that time to walk around and explore. Colonial Beach is along the Potomac and had suffered a lot of damage from storms and flooding this year. Also, it seemed quite deserted being the end of September. Here are some of my favorite photos from my walk along the beach.

MattAnne01 Matt & Anne

Matt & Anne met in high school and have been together for 16 years! Can you believe it!? They both grew up in DC and held their wedding at The Embassy Row Hotel. Their ceremony was planned for out on the rooftop, but it decided to snow in late October and they had to move everything inside. Their reception was held at the Cranford House, which right down the street and it is also the headquarters for The American News Woman’s Club. I’d like to point out that Anne did many of the beautiful flower arrangements herself! The entire day was filled with great joy and the reception turned into a fantastic dance party with awesome music! Congratulations Matt & Anne! Thank you so much for having me as your photographer.

Savage Mill Wedding Photography 01 Shelby & Jess

So, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve blogged. There were the holidays and that other thing……excuses, excuses! Well, I promise that I will keep your eyes occupied with beautiful imagery for the next few weeks, at least.

First off, I’d like to share with you the beautiful wedding of Shelby & Jess. These guys rock! No really, they do. They are fun, witty and a blast to be around. Also, they did Karaoke at their wedding! You might remember them from their engagement photos with their sweet doggie Sarah.

I loved everything about this wedding. It was so stylish and classy. They were married at St. Louis Catholic Church and held their reception at Historic Savage Mill. Shelby & Jess are big into Karaoke and it seems to run in their families as well. Their DJ is usually a Karaoke DJ and at the end of the night a few family members got up to sing. Then Shelby serenaded Jess with one of her favorite songs. Baby Got Back. 36-24-36, ha ha, only if she’s 5′ 3″!

Ellen - I attended the events and I have to say, I was impressed with how well you stayed in the background to take the photos. I remember my sister’s wedding and how annoying and intrusive that photographer was during the event. You were definitely a wonderful photographer in that regard and the photos are excellent.

Chris - We watched our little Chip (Shelby) run around in a pamper in the back yard with Radar when he was two, and now he’s all grown up and a hubby with a beautiful wife. Life is good and so are these beautiful photographs.

Shelby - At the risk of tootin’ my own horn, it takes a mighty fine (and brave) photographer to capture the mean bust-a-move skills my bride and I displayed, from drop-it-low crunk to swing-the-vest disco. Plus that other nice stuff like getting married in the house of God and all that, but let’s stay focused here. Thanks, Debi! You made the book of memories for us, and — this is important — we barely knew you were there, in a good way. You’re a ninja.

Mary Jane - Wonderful photo-chronology of a special, special day. Great composition, crisp color capture the spectrum of memories from the quiet and introspective right through to the high energy and emotional. Truly memorable.

Mark Zimmerman - Excellent pictures! Beautiful wedding! Though really, can Shelby and Jess take a bad picture? Great Job..

beaker - I’ve never seen a priest get down like that! Shelby didn’t help any (silly boy), but Jess was beautiful in the pictures. The entire wedding party was fantastic! My favorite wedding pictures in years!

Kevin Dolan - I was up there with the happy couple and have seen a lot of these pics and I really think they’re fantastic. Great quality but also captured the small moments of the day so well. The non-posed stuff is really poignant and it will evoke the day for them as they look back.

Kevin - Excellent pictures. The stand alone non-wedding pics are great, I really like the stuff on the bridge. Everything looks sharp and crisp, good coloring, nice selection of various pieces of the event. I also liked the BW of Shelby with the mirror, looking very elder statesman, almost presidential.

Old Town Alexandria VA Photography 01 James & Jessica Engagement

Meet James & Jessica. They met while attending the University of Pennsylvania, which also happens to be my husbands alma mater. When we first moved down to DC my husband and Jessica worked together. James moved down to DC as well to be closer to Jessica, but then Jessica was sent to Israel for work and she still resides there. While she was in town for a few weeks we got together and ran around Old Town Alexandria to do some engagement photos for them. I’m so happy with how these photos came out! It ended up being one of those unseasonably warm days in November so the weather was perfect and James & Jessica are just so cute together! We had a lot of fun. I’m excited to be photographing their wedding in June!
