This was the last wedding I photographed in 2011.  In fact it was on 11/11/11!  Ken & Melissa had one of the coolest weddings ever.  There were so many thoughtful and unique details at this wedding I don’t even know where to start!  First of all, they held their ceremony and reception at Prince William National Forest.  They rented an entire campground called “Happyland.”  It was a beautiful fall day with a crisp breeze in the air and colorful foliage.  I loved every detail at this wedding from the Lego ring bearer box that Ken & Melissa made, to the smores and everything in between.  Check out the LED lights Melissa had put into her dress for their first dance.  Ya know, I don’t think I could have pulled that off but Melissa totally rocked it!

Aren’t these two adorable?  Meet Allison & Jeff.  You might remember them from their engagement shoot with their sweet doggie Mason.  They were married up in Philly and held both their ceremony and reception at Le Meridian, an awesome boutique hotel downtown.  One thing that was cool about having their wedding at La Meridian was that to do portraits by City Hall, all we had to do was walk around the corner!

Allison & Jeff met in Philly and then moved down to DC.  What I love about Allison & Jeff is that they are always laughing and smiling which makes them a ton of fun to be around.  Thank you so much for having me as your photographer!

Matt & Anne met in high school and have been together for 16 years!  Can you believe it!?  They both grew up in DC and held their wedding at The Embassy Row Hotel.  Their ceremony was planned for out on the rooftop, but it decided to snow in late October and they had to move everything inside.  Their reception was held at the Cranford House, which right down the street and it is also the headquarters for The American News Woman’s Club.  I’d like to point out that Anne did many of the beautiful flower arrangements herself!  The entire day was filled with great joy and the reception turned into a fantastic dance party with awesome music!  Congratulations Matt & Anne!  Thank you so much for having me as your photographer.

So, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve blogged.  There were the holidays and that other thing……excuses, excuses!  Well, I promise that I will keep your eyes occupied with beautiful imagery for the next few weeks, at least.

First off, I’d like to share with you the beautiful wedding of Shelby & Jess.  These guys rock!  No really, they do.  They are fun, witty and a blast to be around.  Also, they did Karaoke at their wedding!  You might remember them from their engagement photos with their sweet doggie Sarah.

I loved everything about this wedding.  It was so stylish and classy.  They were married at St. Louis Catholic Church and held their reception at Historic Savage Mill.  Shelby & Jess are big into Karaoke and it seems to run in their families as well.  Their DJ is usually a Karaoke DJ and at the end of the night a few family members got up to sing.  Then Shelby serenaded Jess with one of her favorite songs.  Baby Got Back.  36-24-36, ha ha, only if she’s 5′ 3″!
